Yummy Pan Chicken!

It's been awhile since I've had the to-die-for Pan Chicken at Pancake House, so I couldn't resist making a stop at their Metrowalk outlet when I saw it today. As I skimmed through their menu, I was surprised to see lots of new healthy salad meals that they were now offering. Sad to say I am off my South Beach Diet so my only goal for the day was to get my hands on some of their mouth watering fried chicken. I finally decided on the Mix & Match Meal 2 which gave me a serving of spaghetti w/ bread, one of their equally yummy tacos, a piece of Pan Chicken and a glass of Iced tea. It was truly a very satisfying meal!!!

Bravo Amici

On a recent night out we discovered a wonderful treasure at Don Bosco (we actually attended a wake at the church there), the place was callled Amicci. This cafeteria style restaurant was run by the priests of Don Bosco and here you can find wonderful authentic Italian food at very very reasonable prices. Service was super fast, with freshly baked pizza being served in less than 10 mins., The pasta dishes we ordered all came out piping hot & perfectly al dente. The capuccino was a steal at 35p a cup. I'm planning to go back real soon.
One of the best Alio Oglio's that I have ever tasted. It was so good that I couldn't resist ordering one to go.

This was the beautiful sight that our eyes feasted on before we devoured all this lovely Italian Food!

We had to make sure to leave enough space for dessert. At 35p for one big scoop of this creamy Italian gelato, it is the ultimate bargain. The pistachio gelato that I chose was super yummy!

Veggie Post 2

My babies are really thriving in their new home, they must've grown half an inch since yesterday when I transplanted them from the cramped seedling trays they were in. It's apparent that they were just bursting to come out.

Project Veggie

Here are the first images of my "babies", the lettuce Lollo Rossa. It's only been a little over a month since I started this new project of mine, so after a few failed attempts & mishaps, I think I am finally beginning to understand the basic concept of planting using the hydroponics method. I am crossing my fingers that my babies will grow to their full potential and will end up looking like the image below. Please wish me luck.

Pretty in Pink

It's true what they say that birds of the same feather flock together as my friends and I were all color synched in pink when we attended the 1st birthday party of Alexis Kate, daughter of my nearest & dearest pals Mary Ann & Jameson.

Must Love is a Must Watch!

Just saw the new movie Must love Dogs yesterday. Thought it was very entertaining, lots of cute funny moments especially the story about using "Saran wrap".

Purple Obsession no. 1

I found this lovely necklace at the store called Details at Rockwell while doing some window shopping with Mel. I loved the monochromatic theme used with the different shades of purple/violet beads & stones. It was truly love at first sight.
I am starting a new thread on my blog in connection with my obsession for the color purple.

Nip what?

I stumbled upon this interesting item at the check out counter at PCX.

Beer Time!!!

Can't imagine anything better than a bottle of super ice cold Cerveza Negra on a quiet Saturday night at home. This wonderfully dark lager is usully my beer of choice. With its distinct caramel undertones, it doesnt have that bitter after taste usually associated with beer.

Knitters Dream

Just got the yarn that I asked cousin Val to purchase for me from Atlanta. This big bag of furrylicioius Raspberry colored yarn from Italy was so heavenly, I immediately had visions of shawls & scarves that I wanted to make. Working with this new type of yarn is taking some getting used to with it's frilly delicate texture.

Gaga over Gaiman

After reading about his much publicized visit to the Pines a few weeks ago in the papers. I decided that I would try to grab a book by this author dude named Neil Gaiman (whom I have never even heard of) on my next visit to the bookstore. From what I gathered in the articles, written with almost a hero-like reverence, he has quite a cult following with people calling him the Shakespeare of the comics world and is considered one of the best top ten living post modern writers. I chanced upon one of his novels, "Stardust" at Fully Booked bookstore and a few days later I was hooked. I LOVED STARDUST!!! I loved everything about it, the characters, the story, the setting, Gaimans style of writing is simple, fast paced, I JUST LOVED IT!!! I'm planning to go back to the bookstore tomorrow for more Neil Gaiman.

Lotsa pizza!

Mel had been raving endlessly about the pizza being served at this new restaurant in Q.C. called Wheatberry, so as a bonafide pizza lover, I felt it was my duty to check out this place for myself. 3 kinds of pizza was ordered that night, we had the quattro fromaggio, vegetarian & a filipino style adobo pizza. Our orders took awhile to arrive, around 15 to 20 mins. Finally the pizzas arrive & I was happy with the crust since it was thin but not too thin & had a crispy texture. The adobo pizza was interesting, it tasted more like asado than adobo bec. of its sweet & tangy flavor, unfortunately the vegetarian pizza which came out last turned out to be bland since the strong flavors of the 2 previous pizzas totally overpowered our taste buds already. I was a bit disappointed that they scrimped on the filling though, but I guess for less than 300 bucks a pop for a family sized pizza, its pretty reasonable.

Flippin for JOY

I have finally taken the plunge and bought myself a new cellphone, the ultra thin Motorola RAZR V3 (color silver). I remember my first cellphone almost 10 years back, it was the Motorola Star Tac which at that time I absolutely adored because of it's flip phone design. Then like the rest of the masses I switched to the Nokias and Ericssons but 3 phones later, I have finally returned to my roots as they say with this new cell phone of mine. Aside from it having a flip phone design which I had missed so terribly, the phone boasts Camera & Video features , Bluetooth, MMS, and Quad Band. I'm glad that I got the chance to talk to T. Jimenez who sported the black version of this power packed baby, I was in awe when he was showing me all the great features and was kind enough to answer all my questions. This guy is so totally updated with all the latest cellphones and was a wealth of information. I'm glad that I was patient enough to wait for my dream phone.
